Upper Fox Valley Hockey Club

Origin and Mission

For quite some time, the girls in our community have been active participants in the great sport of ice hockey. In fact, our area of Chicago-land has consistently supported girls hockey and over the years this has made our community one of the hotbeds of girls hockey in Illinois.

The organizations and coaches that helped form these girls did a very good job at building their skills and abilities. Many play hockey today on Tier II, Tier I, College and Women’s hockey teams.

Until 2010/2011 season, these talented girls did not have an opportunity to play on a girl’s high school team. Some high school age girls could play on Tier I Girls teams if they were selected, some could play on a boys high school or Bantam/Midget team if they were strong enough; but for many the opportunity to play hockey ended after U14’s.

UFV mission – to give girls in our community a chance to keep on playing and enjoying ice hockey during high school.

AHAI and USA Hockey officially recognized our new girls high school hockey club on October 15th, 2010 and the girls of the high schools in the Upper Fox Valley finally have a high school team to play on - the FOX.
